Support trying default then target credentials

If something is discovered that has already been set up, try
first the default credentials, and failing that see if perhaps
the final user/password will work. If the credentials match neither,
then there's nothing for us to do than log.

Document plan change on nic attributes

Document change is long term strategy on the network attributes.
The previous design was an overreaction to the mess of the
nics/mac/hosts table and inability to cleanly deal with bonds and
bridges. I think this design does a better job compromising between
overcomplicating the simple case and having the power to accomodate
the complex case. Note that IMO, network manager overcomplicates the
device to connection relationship, and I want to avoid that.

message is cleaner without having to explain you can skip status.
Have the man page explain that 'status' acts the same as no argument.
